Valentine’s Day Parties

Valentine’s Day will be here before we know it and so will our classroom celebrations. Each classroom will celebrate Valentine’s Day in some way. Some classes may invite parents to attend a class party, others may choose to do a “students only” celebration. The teachers will post specific information on the bulletin boards outside each classroom.

MDO Closed February 2-6

As noted on the MDO school calendar you received at the beginning of the school year, MDO is closed February 2-6, 2009. LISD is closed Monday-Wednesday of that week and we are closed for the entire week. Your tuition amount for this year is based on the number of scheduled school days for your child’s class. You are not paying tuition for the first week of February or for any other scheduled holiday.

Registration for 2009-2010

It’s registration time again! Registration forms will be sent home during the week of February 9. Registration forms will not be accepted until February 16 and you (or a relative/friend) must register in person. Do not send the completed form back in your child’s folder or give it to a teacher. The registration schedule for the 2009-2010 school year is listed below.

February 16-17 Registration for current students and their siblings.

February 18-19 Registration for St. Margaret Mary parishioners.

February 20 Registration for those on the waiting list.

Registrations will be accepted between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Current students and their siblings are guaranteed a place in the program however, specific spots (i.e. MWF or TTh) will be filled on a first-come first-served basis.

Only current students and their siblings will be registered on February 16-17. There will be no exceptions.

Your child will be considered registered when the completed form has been returned and the registration fee has been paid. Registration fees are $50 per student.

Tuition for the 2009-2010 school year will be $145 per month for the Monday-Wednesday program, $155 per month for the Tuesday-Thursday program, and $190 per month for the Monday-Wednesday-Friday program. We will also offer two need-based scholarships, available only to SMM parishioners. One scholarship will be a full tuition scholarship and the second will be for half tuition.

Cold/Flu Season

Now that flu/cold season is here, please remember that the best defense against the spread of unwanted germs is to keep your children home if they are at all symptomatic. Remember, a child must be completely free of symptoms, without the aid of medication, for 24 hours before returning to school.

Weather Change

As the weather begins to turn cooler, please remember to replace the extra “summer” change of clothes in your child’s backpack with warmer winter wear. Keep in
